A fan favourite and legend in the 70’s and 80’s in PEI hockey, there was no one tougher to lace up the skates than Mike “Pinky” Gallant. The only thing bigger than his hockey grit was his enormous heart which has been passed on to his two sons, hockey stars themselves Brett and Alex Gallant who are also exceptional role models as former BGC Summerside employees, volunteers and mentors.

This scholarship will be awarded to an individual/ or individuals* who demonstrates some of the amazing characteristics Pinky demonstrated, and that his family continues to demonstrate to this day. Pinky was a fierce defender of his teammates, and anyone he saw as someone who may need help. His two sons, Brett and Alex, continue to display this courage to this day!
